Kuok Khoon Hong, the co-founder of Wilmar in 1991, has played an instrumental role in transforming Wilmar into one of the world’s largest palm oil producers and a global agribusiness behemoth. Beyond his accomplishments in the business world, Kuok has diversified his investments, including ventures into property. He holds a stake in Yanlord Land, co-owning London’s Aviva Tower alongside Indonesian billionaire and fellow Wilmar co-founder Martua Sitorus.
Kuok is also a committed philanthropist, particularly in the field of education. Under his guidance, the Wilmar Group is actively involved in building, managing, and supporting schools, as well as funding scholarships in the communities where it operates. Wilmar has made significant contributions, such as a S$13 million donation to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, and the establishment of a nature school in Indonesia.

In 2022, Kuok Khoon Hong received full compensation amounting to US$9.892 million. According to Forbes, he has a personal net worth of US$3.1 billion.
