Jimmy Tong Appointed CEO of Liberty Singapore

Jimmy Tong is the Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Singapore. This change is effective 27 April 2026. It is a deal for Liberty Mutual, in Southeast Asia.

Jimmy Tong got this job because Liberty Mutual Insurance Group wants to make some changes. They want to combine their businesses in Singapore which’re Liberty Insurance and Liberty Specialty Markets, into one. This means Liberty Singapore will have one leader and one licence. The goal is to make the company work better together and be able to make decisions faster in a competitive market.

The company put all its insurance businesses together on 1 January 2026. This means insurance for individuals, businesses and special things are all in one place now. Insurance for homes, cars and businesses are included. Jimmy Tong is the boss of this combined business. He will make sure the business does well and grows. Jimmy Tong will help the insurance company sell to everyone from individuals to businesses and even big companies in Singapore. The insurance company will sell kinds of insurance including property insurance, car insurance and special insurance. At Great Eastern Jimmy Tong was in charge of the General and Group Insurance teams. Jimmy Tong always tried to make sure the company was growing in a way being careful, with risks and creating products that people actually wanted to buy. Tong had jobs at UOB earlier in his career. Tong has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He is also a CFA charterholder. This means he has an understanding of finance and how to make big decisions. Tong knows a lot about finance.
