Before assuming his role as Group CEO of CapitaLand Investment, Chee Koon Lee served as the CEO and President of CapitaLand Group, where he played a pivotal role in steering the company toward its vision of CapitaLand 3.0. During his tenure, CapitaLand embarked on strategic initiatives, including the acquisition of Ascendas-Singbridge for S$11 billion. This strategic move diversified CapitaLand into the profitable industrial properties, business parks, and logistics sector.
Leadership Roles and International Relations
Lee joined CapitaLand in 2007 and has held various leadership roles within the organization. He served as the group’s Chief Investment Officer and also assumed the position of CEO of the group’s serviced-residence division, The Ascott. Under his leadership at The Ascott, he was honored with the Business China Young Achiever Award for strengthening Singapore-China relations through Ascott.

Chee Koon Lee’s outstanding achievements extended beyond Asia. Over a four-year period from 2013, he successfully led Ascott’s profit recovery, significantly expanded its revenues, and oversaw its unprecedented expansion. His contributions earned him the prestigious National Order of Merit from the President of the French Republic.
Lee holds a mechanical engineering degree from the National University of Singapore and completed his master’s degree at Imperial College London. His educational background in engineering combined with his leadership and strategic vision has made him a formidable force in the real estate investment management industry in Asia and beyond.
