Security Bank Appoints Victor Lee Meng Teck as New CEO: A Strategic Leadership Transition
Security Bank Corporation, a top financial institution in the Philippines, has appointed Victor Lee Meng Teck as its new President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) starting January 2026. This leadership transition is a landmark development in the bank’s push for continuous growth and innovation.
A Seasoned Banking Executive
Victor Lee has more than three decades of rich experience in the banking industry in Asia. Before joining Security Bank, he was CEO of CIMB Singapore and CEO of Growth Markets at CIMB Bank Berhad. At CIMB Singapore, Lee played a key role in propelling the bank’s revenues, doubling its profit and attaining a Return on Equity (ROE) of almost 20%. During his tenure, CIMB Singapore was ranked by The Straits Times as one of the top three institutions for customer experience for three years in a row (2023–2025). Further, he built an employee engagement culture that enhanced the level of satisfaction in the company.
Lee has a career that covers some of the leading financial institutions, such as DBS Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Citigroup, Standard Chartered Bank, United Overseas Bank (UOB), and Fullerton Financial Holdings. His background provides him with a broad exposure to the banking environment, well positioning him to guide Security Bank to its next level of growth.
Transition of Leadership
Security Bank’s current Chief Operating Officer, Victor Lee, will replace Sanjiv Vohra, who has been the bank’s CEO since 2019. Vohra’s term was marked by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which he steered the bank through successfully. During his term, Security Bank also experienced a full-scale transformation under his direction, with the expansion of digital channels, customer-centric strategies, and sustainability efforts. These have positioned the bank as an “Employer of Choice” and laid the ground for sustainable profitability.
When Lee takes over as CEO, Vohra will become a Senior Advisor to the Board, providing continuity and strategic direction during the transition. This smooth transition reflects the bank’s dedication to stability and long-term growth.
Strategic Vision for the Future
In his new position, Victor Lee is set to capitalize on the sound foundation laid by his predecessor. He has vowed to continue focusing on Security Bank’s customer-oriented strategy and pursuing sustainable growth. Lee’s broad experience in heading financial institutions across Asia will be critical in navigating the changing banking environment and maximizing the emerging opportunities.
The hiring of Victor Lee demonstrates Security Bank’s commitment to leadership excellence and operational effectiveness. Having an experienced leader at the top, the bank is poised to sustain its path of success and innovation in the Philippine banking industry.
As the banking sector continues to change, Security Bank’s leadership change reflects its forward thinking in embracing change and sustaining long-term prosperity. With Victor Lee at the helm, the bank is poised to further pursue its mission of providing superior financial services and the economic growth of the Philippines.
