Fraser and Neave Appoints Rahul Colaco as New CEO to Drive Next Growth Chapter

The appointment of Rahul Colaco as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 October 2025, has been announced by Singapore’s iconic conglomerate Fraser and Neave Limited. He replaces Hui Choon Kit, who had helmed the company for more than five years and is credited with reinforcing the resiliency of F&N’s business across Southeast Asia. The succession marks a point in the 142-year journey of the company as it renews its strategy amidst changing consumer trends and regional market dynamics.

Rahul Colaco brings over 28 years of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, which includes leadership stints at Unilever, FrieslandCampina, and Thai Beverage Public Company Limited or ThaiBev, F&N’s parent company. He has a strong background in brand management, market expansion, and organizational transformation, positioning him as a strong leader to guide F&N’s next phase of growth.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, Colaco has a professional background of managing multi-country operations throughout his career across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. At FrieslandCampina, he was Managing Director for various growth markets that included Malaysia, India, and Nigeria, where he drove double-digit growth and strengthened brand portfolios in highly competitive environments.

At ThaiBev, he was instrumental in aligning the group’s food and beverage business with long-term sustainability and digital transformation, an experience that will prove invaluable as F&N deepens its regional footprint and modernises operations.

Steering a Heritage Brand into the Future

Since its founding in 1883, Fraser and Neave has been synonymous with Singapore’s industrial and commercial history. From a pioneering soft drinks manufacturer and brewery giant, the company has grown into a diversified player with key businesses in beverages, dairy, publishing, and property investment. Its brands include 100PLUS, Magnolia, and Ice Mountain, which enjoy a strong presence across ASEAN markets.

The consumer landscape, however, is changing fast, with rising health consciousness, sustainability priorities, and e-commerce changing the way consumers interact with brands. The prediction, therefore, is that under Colaco’s helm, F&N will double down on innovation, health-focused products, and digital engagement, leveraging ThaiBev’s regional ecosystem for growth synergies.

The Board at F&N said in the official company statement, “The appointment of Colaco will further accelerate its transformation and strengthen the company’s position as a leading food and beverage enterprise in the region.” This appointment signals an emphasis on agility and forward-looking leadership in a bid to keep F&N competitive in an increasingly dynamic marketplace.

Under the “Green for Growth” framework, F&N is committed to several sustainability initiatives: water stewardship, packaging circularity, and carbon reduction. Colaco brings experience from global FMCG firms with strong ESG-anchored cultures in keeping with these priorities.

Analysts expect him to expand sustainable product lines, reduce environmental impact, and promote circular economy practices while driving revenue growth. He is also anticipated to strengthen F&N’s partnerships with local suppliers and distributors, boosting inclusivity and long-term resilience in the company’s supply chain.

Leadership Transition and Strategic Outlook

Colaco’s arrival heralds a new chapter in the company’s quest for scalable growth, brand rejuvenation, and strategic diversification. Industry observers believe his global perspective, combined with local insight, could propel F&N into emerging opportunities across the region, from health beverages to plant-based alternatives and sustainable packaging innovation.

With the rapid evolution of consumer preferences and competition in all ASEAN markets, the tenure of Rahul Colaco is beginning at a very critical juncture. His appointment symbolizes F&N’s further commitment to adapt, innovate, and lead responsibly in years to come.
